Head Down to Mississauga Celebration Square on New Year's Eve
Ring in the New Year at the second annual party hosted at Mississauga Celebration Square. This year you'll be able to dance the night away with pop groups Nightbox and Lights. There will also be gourmet food trucks on hand to satisfy your hunger pangs throughout the night.
Enjoy an evening of skating music with one of Mississauga's DJs, D3AN TH3 MACHIN3, and get ready to countdown to the New Year.
Last year there were 30,000 people in attendance at Mississauga's first official party. Everyone is invited back and it is expected that even more will attend to take part in the excitement this year.
The New Year's Eve on the Square event will be hosted by Danielle Kelly, Mississauga's own star of light that made it famous in Degrassi The Next Generation. Then at 11:55, Mayor Hazel McCallion will be a part of the countdown to the brand-new year.
Mississauga Celebration Square is located at the corner of Burnhamthorpe Rd., West and Duke of York Boulevard. Both Scotiabank and Enbridge are sponsoring this event to help pull Mississaugans together to celebrate the start of a hopeful and promising new year.
All of the events will be weather permitting, of course, and you can expect to see some road closures from December 31 until January 1. In order to make it as easy on yourself as possible, take the MiWay to Celebration Square for free. On New Year's Eve all routes will be free from 7 PM until 4 AM!
If you haven't made any plans for New Year’s Eve yet why not get together with your fellow Mississauga residents for a party of fun and excitement? It's going to be quite an event with free festivities for all!
